Party in Genk

Tine Op 23 december 2006 heb ik voor het eerst in 17 jaar nog eens een feestje gegeven. Eindelijk was er nog eens een echt grondige reden om te vieren: een jaar reizen. De vorige keer was trouwens voor mijn afzwaai uit het leger, stel u voor.

Ondanks de verloren ligging van Den Ichter - een zaaltje in een doodlopend straatje aan de donkere rand van Genk - is er toch redelijk veel volk opgedaagd. De helft niet-professionele vrienden, de andere helft collega’s van Graco. Bij deze dank ik allen hartelijk voor hun onmisbare bijdrage aan de feestvreugde, want alleen reizen, dat gaat nog, maar alleen opdagen op een feestje, dat zou belachelijk zijn.
Ons ma, Veerle, Yo, François en Mug hebben het tapwerk voor hun rekening genomen, waardoor de harde kern het zonder uitdrogingsverschijnselen tot vier uur heeft volgehouden.
Juist op tijd buiten voor de poetsvrouw.

In de Gallery staan fotookes. Natuurlijk staat niet iedereen er op, ik had te weinig tijd om constant te staan kieken.

Op 2 januari ben ik weg. Zodra ik een internetverbinding vind, ergens ter wereld, zet ik nog een verhaaltje on-lijn.

Party in Genk

On December 23d 2006, for the first time in 17 years, I organized a party. Finally, this time there was a pretty good reason for it too: traveling for one year. My previous party was to celebrate the end of my service in the army, imagine.

Despite the lost location of the place - Den Ichter is in a dead end street on the dark edge of Genk city - quite a lot of friends were present, half of them colleagues at Graco. I would like to thank everybody for their contribution to the party atmosphere, because traveling alone is okay, but showing up alone at a party would be ridiculous.
My mum, Veerle, Yo, François and Mug took care of the drinks. As a consequence the hard core party people went on till 4 o'clock in the morning with out suffering from dehydration.
Just in time out for the cleaning lady.

There are pictures in the Gallery. Unfortunately not everybody is on it, I had no time to picture all.

On January 2nd, I leave. As soon as I find an internet connection anywhere in the world, I publish a story.
